ok guys, since my 2nd comp went to heaven, I'm looking for something to replace it, I'm not looking for anything too flash, no mega graphics or anything just this: I only need it to: connect to my tv via DVI and display movies in 1080 and provide 5.1 sound output probably via spdif and thats about it, basically just a medai server any suggestions or recommendations? BTW, should have said, I only need the unit itself,no kboard, mouse or monitor, as I'll be driving it from my main puter via remote desktop |

If u need 1080p and want on board graffix u could try this from Abit; http://www.abit.com.tw/page/uk/mother...YPE=LGA775 u would need a HDMI to DVI converter, match it with what u can afford for Core2 Duo and ram(which is dirt cheap at mo). If u only need 1080i u could go with AMD 690G chipset. If you dont need on board graffix then any Ati card from the HD2400 upwards support full 1080p prices start at £30. I think Ati have better image quality for this sort of stuff. Hope this can help if only i had something funny or clever to put here........
