i use be and its pretty darn good. i know its no help to tinger.. i'm on the "24mb" package which translates to around 6mb in real terms. no caps at all, i am running torrents 24/7 except when gaming and usually download 50-100gb per month. my ping on ci is as low as it gets.(5-10) the only thing kinda outta my control is pikey flatmate who stays home all day viewing redtube/donkey porn. i have to deviously disconnect him("what! theres a problem with your machine?") when i want to play propa like. thinking about getting another circuit just for me.. |

What router you using Pedro? The majority have the ability to throttle up/down traffic through specific IP addresses. That's how we hafve ours setup, although admittedly in my case the girls agreed to it, in yours, I just wouldn't bother asking "95% bandwidth for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" they will hear you cry as you skip down the street. |

I'm on 20 meg virgin, normally quite good, although your connection is shared, so you do take a hit in peek times 4pm+. I'm dropping back to the 4 meg service in a few months once they have upgraded it to 10 meg in my area. (http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html/...edule.html). If it's just gaming you wont notice any difference having 10 or 20 meg connections anyway. I've seen ppl on 4meg with lower pings than me! Edited by ShiftyJaffa on 14-03-2008 10:32 |

Use a entanet provider like: ADSL24, falconnet, Aquiss They're have a download cap before they start slowing you down but the caps are extreemly high and you can pay more / less depending on how much you download. They also have a insane offpeak download limit so if you torrent you can just do it all at night. Alot of them only have 1 month minimum contracts so if your not happy your not locked in for a year. And the best bit about it all: No Traffic Shaping Port Throtoling / Blocking |

Goriller mate, Hate to break it to you but you do have a cap. AOL uses a Fair use Policy as well as Trafic Shaping. |

At the mo im with Tesco 1 mb uncapped service . I have never had a problem with it. always had the full up/download rate The only problem I have is horrible choke it hits 50's in the pool if it is full and I get it on tf2 In the old pool my loss and choke was aways 0 but that was way back in the day, and no one else had internet where I live. When my broadband was instaled I had to wait for them to fit another box in the exchange so I had it all to myself for a while Cant figure out what is causing it whether it is my router or my conection I know it aint my pc cos it does the same on three diffrent computers Has anyone heard of these http://www.ukonline.net/compare/?sso_...sso_auth=0 Ohh the temptation Ahh always said I would never go with AOL but http://shop.carphonewarehouse.com/aol...bility.php 40gb cap and a two year contract But I could just use daddys internet to download all my shit and he would never know he is clueless I need yes need GTA4 and I cant afford a new console atm    |

im on 10meg with Virgin, in download terms im getting about 4, but my gaming still runs nicely. i can run utorrent and still play tf2 smoothly. If im not running torrents i always get between 5 and 10 ping on the CI server. Virgin are good, then something will go wrong, which they rectify pretty quickly. Its been like that when it was telewest, and its the same now its Virgin. I was with 02 before because of having a contract with them for my mobile, so i got 8meg for £7.50, and it wasnt shared, which was awesome. i got 8 meg, all day, everyday. If you have an 02 contract phone, id get it with 02 (its dsl by the way) and they provide a router(wireless) with it too. Whcih is surprisingly a very good router. |
