How is it supposed to be any better? From that site I get it's just a steam/gamespy imitation. Unless I missed something someone still has to host locally. |

GameRanger handles the connection, so you don't have to fiddle with ports or anything. But yeah, it's still local hosting. I tried it once with a few games when they first released the Windows binary. It's alright but it's lobby system wasn't the best (and occasionally pointless) and it sometimes took ages to connect to a match (although it's been a while so they might have fixed that). But if you're just looking for an easy connection, you may as well use Hamachi. Quote tomregev wrote: From that site I get it's just a steam/gamespy imitation. GameRanger was around way before Steam or GameSpy, so it's the other way around Edited by Mike on 15-11-2009 11:49 |

I'm split on this, borderlands was a lot of fun, but the lack of proper multiplayer was really disappointing and made it short lived, once I finish playthrough 2 with my soldier and siren I doubt I'll start another character. While the expansion looks fun I doubt multiplayer will improve and it's pretty much the premise that got me to buy the game in the first place. |

It does look interesting but I'm not sure I really want to support Gearbox atm. As Tom said, the game was a lot of fun, but it had a load of issues that still haven't been dealt with (bugs, lack of proper PC controls, online play etc). Then there's the whole SecuROM-on-the-DLC-but-not-on-the-main-game issue. |

Theres been a sneaky update to Borderlands to 1.1 which seems to have put files related to the DLC and have included SecuROM unless it will only be activated when you buy the DLC or the SecuROM is intended for the original game unsure. I am hoping its just making it "DLC Ready" http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/7397...ands11.png http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost....count=9031 |

"We've brought back a lot of fan-favourite characters such as Scooter and Marcus". I dunno about 'Fan Favourite', considering they were pretty much the only consistant characters in the game. The AI doesn't seem that much improved either, they seem to just aimlessly run in a straight line. The last ninja ran into the wall and stood there while the players shoot him/her. |
