The reason i chose not to go DX10 is because the current range of DX10 cards suck ass, and DX9 will do for at least a year and a half yet... LINKS FIXED EDIT: Ummm... isn't the E6600 a whole £40 more? EDIT2: May change the PSU to something cheaper, and get an E6600. EDIT3!!: Am going to get this PSU: http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/114104 OR http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/99136 And the E6750!!!! http://www.eclipsecomputers.com/produ...6750&af=50 Just ordered it last night FINAL SPECIFICATION CPU E6750 £128 Motherboard Asus P5K £84 GPU X1950XT £111 RAM GeIL Ultra 2Gb £67 Case Antec Sonata (III) £80 HDD Samsung Spinpoint 250Gb £38.16 Optical Drive Asus DRW £21.61 3rd Party CPU cooler AC Freezer 7 Pro £16.31 Extra bits and bobs AS 5 Compound £4.45 http://www.scan.c...tID=610456 http://www.scan.c...uctID=1864 Mouse Razer DeathAdder £41 Mousepad http://www.play.c...type=genre £13 Edited by Cold on 24-07-2007 09:29 |

I whould recommend dropping some of the "extra items" the more you spend on the core of your machine the happier you be in a year or so mouse , pad , and gfx cooler - all these thing you can get in a couple of months any how - then you can add £70 to a better cpu/memory/motherboard. The case i can see as you dont have spares knocking around really. But always spend the most you can on the cpu/motherboard/memory as these are what make a pc be avg to exellent. free |

Cold doesn't want DX10 He thinks it is very bad at the moment. That is the best CPU i can afford, can't get much better memory than what I chose as it is performance memory, not value stuff (it actually has better timings than the Corsair stuff), and the mobo will do, it gets good reviews and Asus boards are good overclockers. I get where u are coming from though... The extra £70 would have gone to an 8800GTS, but as I said, I don't really want any of the current DX10 cards, because they don't actually run DX10 well at all. O, and btw, I got Vista home premium. |

For the next year and a bit, they will all be DX9 or DX10. So I can wait for the next gen cards because I will still be able to play the new games. Also, the XT isn;t that much less powerful than an 8800GTS 320Mb, Edited by Cold on 25-07-2007 16:28 |
