http://www.teamfo...hp?id=3279 So, what do you guys think? Easy for achievements, to fill up a server or just good for when you're having no friends? I know it has been mentioned in the "war" topic already, but just among the other updates. I've played against a couple of bots in a KotH game this morning on our clan's server, gotta say, scouts, snipers and pyro's are hard to beat. Spies made me lol though |

I think valve implemented them to try and combat the fake player counts, so that it's easier for servers to start up. Sure they'll play pretty good, but there's always a limit. Also as they said in their blog, it's a good testing ground for their AI that they put in to products such as l4d (I think we all know that could do with some improvements) |

One of my old css clans used to have 4 bots constantly that played in the server, as people joined they got replaced so you'd get to 4 real people. it just made the server look a bit full, noone likes an empty server! it worked pretty well but there are a lot of people who hate bots. but then css bots were either terrible, or were omnipotent and cheated seems like they've tried to make these tf2 bots different. |

Hopefully the bot improvement from tf2 may go into l4d2 bots But yeah bots are a good idea for filling up servers css bots were a bit blah |

they beta, at the moment so will be more tempted when some of functionality is put in ie fixed class restriction with bot_quota cvar, we run 6 on the css and it does help to get things going, but the tf2 bots need a bit of work before we should implement them here

plus they only really work on koth right now.. but then again I don't know what the server rotation is like.. Still, think of all the medics we would have if you added bots! |

lol, just spawn lots of medibots to be personal healers? I think thats called bot-abuse I wonder how well they interpret projectiles/stickies/sniper dots |

Good Q there Andy, as well as how will they react on spies? Will they start spy checking, and how will they react when Heavy Bot 1 sees another Heavy Bot 1 run past him? |

They work very odd with spies. As soon as you enter their field of view with a disguise on they lock on and start to stare at you, they wont actually shoot unless you spend too much time around them or remove disguise. |

Seen some bots which can build multiple sentry guns however they dont remove sappers from spies

Just checked it, they don't attack the spies, I think they're just waiting for you to attack them to get shot to pieces by the SG |

Oh forgot this thread. Anyways like i said, should give them a spin on server, just let admin powers be able to spawn and kick bots and we should be fine. NOT 100% SURE BUT i think they get auto kicked to make room for actual players. |

well, i'd say have it set to 6v6 bots and let people come on the server and replaces them, or maybe 5v5 Makes the server look nice and busy and would hopefully keep it busy for a while. Be good if bots change to medic upon death if no one else in the team is a medic, and lots of people keep calling for one! |

From what i heard they know how to fight in any game mode, just wont capture points or intel. Idea was to just have them support the players so we would have people for objectives too. |

We have actually tested bots in tf2 & run bots in css. The tf2 bots are beta they need work, we will be happy to use them to once they are working correctly & consistently. |
