Got issues with my mike. Decided I should try out the intergrated mike in the laptop, because then I won't have to place a filthy, broken recording device INSIDE MY MOUTH for you to hear my witty, clever and sexy voice. Trouble is, I either get no sound at all or I get the Morning Star, the Beast, the Lord of Darkness, Satan himself trying to communicate with this realm of mortals through the mediums of my laptop and my distorted voice. So I appeal to you strapping lads and handsome woman to stop the apocalypse from coming three years early and enlighten me. Purdy pwease. |

I dunno, not really I guess. When I test the mike it's always really low playback. I think it's not capturing quite right. Any magical settings I should know about? Becuase it's always been dumb luck before. |

Tried disabling mic boost? If that didn't help and the drivers didn't do anything it could just be that the mic is shitty. |

It's a pretty new laptop, as in "only" three months perhaps. And not a shitty one. The mike should be fine, I think. |

I couldn't work out why my mic was so low once - inadvertently one of my children has been tampering with the settings and dragged the slider down to almost nil. It could be something as easy as that. In Windows you can "test your sound hardware" - I think it is in control panel under "sound". You read out a paragraph of text. |
