Hiya peeps, Recently Cresalina (sorry poor memory) mentioned that i wouldn't lag so much if i lowered P2P rates or something along those lines. I'm a computer re**** so was wondering if anyone could spell it out to me in nice simple short words. ...excluding leeroy because he'll probably spell it out in two simple short words.  Any help appreciated

Note though that only porn causes ping issues, you can still download pirated copies of movies and games. |

P2P isn't strictly just torrents. It can be anything that links 2 computers together. So things like MSN, torrents, Skype, Teamspeak etc. Even Steam can be classed as a P2P program, but you can't really close that while playing a steam game.... |

If you have iplayer or 4od, these are torrent things taht will eat bandwidtch. You can go to task manager and end "Kservice" to disable them shareing (it runs even after you close them both, and restarts if you open either again) |

I had a laggy issue in game once that wasnt related to my ping but my Processor usage. I ctrl, alt.delete'd and got up the task manager and found something in processes called nmindexstoresvr that was using 50% of my cpu so I googled it and found out it was something to do with nero express and found out it was safe to end process and solved my problem. Maybe next time you start to lag and you aren't downloading anything try looking through the task manager for any high cpu usage processes but google them before you end anything or it could be dungerrous |

most processes will give you an access denied if they are system owned & needed to run.. you can go some extreme lengths if you wish to get the OS to run lighter on its feet http://www.blackviper.com/  |
