They removed the use of the console commands - however, my achievement completions of the tiers stills stand. I think I'm gonna play conservatively this week - I've been on and all you get is a swarm of medics saying "please try and help me get this achievement" - it's bullshit and ruins play on the server. Sorry, I cannot be arsed with something which is turning servers into what looks like a gladiator den of medics - its not fun being a heavy being swarmed by enemy medics with bonesaws out while your team medics heal each other running around like dogs with their tongues out... ...problem is this is looking like a long term problem with each of the various classes in the spotlight as the achievements for each class get expelled like the excrement of a constipated man - one round ball of shit at a time. Hand over the fecking weapons valve and get it over and done with. To be fair, the Ci server was pretty grim for, say, 1 round of gravelpit and maybe 1 or two others, but then the medic-fest soon abated, and all was grand again. At least, that was how it seemed to me... |

Yeah, TF2 just isn't fun now. Everyone are out hunting for achievements ruining everything for everyone. At least Valve could ahve givel us the weapons without having to do achievements. I'm gonna mail them and see if they have a solution for this |

tbh i completly agree with valve by resetting the achievements. Sure you piss alot of ppl off but its probably better than having ppl like me unlockign everything. I agree with naughty in just about everything hes said on this so far across various threads. But Heres the bottom line that i feel has been forgotten: This content is free and the unlock dont require micropayments. As far as i could tell they dont unbalanced the game to the degree that people were predicting, they just shift the dynamic of how things work. Im normally a pessimist but i find it hard to look at this and see nothign but positives. The community will get a shot in the arm with old players coming back. There will be an influx of new players over the weekend (an i plan on stabbing all of them at least once). The valve team is doing this for all the classes and bringin out new maps that take into account the new ablities of the classes. They still have all of the number of people in team working on teh new content as they had developing the game originally, as opposed to most games where the number of ppl working on the game drop off after the inital release. My point is im tired of all the moaning ive heard about the patch/update/weapons. I really cant see how any of the new content makes the game worse or how it will be bad for player numbers. Cant we all just agree that while it might not be perfect its better than the content produced by just about every other developer currently? Yep I would agree with all that you said apart from the fact that they dont test it and dont give any chance to test it before release, which leads to bugs and faults, which tends to lead to disappoint and hard work to resolve their issues that they tend not fix. Which is a complete mare when trying to run a server with valve at the helm. |

AgrippA - the problem is I would love to jump on and play the game - unfortunately there are far more sheep-like players thinking "I must get ALLLLLLL achievements" that it's ruining that experience. There's getting steamrolled and there's losing because your team were all attached to each other with the umbilical cords of dooooooom. I'm not complaining about the free updates - Goldrush (when it works properly) will be fantastic. My ire is directed towards the "fuck-you casual medic player" type content that's been released as an unlockable. My answer to everyone so far who has said "patience padawan, the new weapons offer no advantage" is bullshit; if they offer no advantage, what is the problem in releasing them to everyone...afterall, there is no advantage lost to you... Anyway after all this...I'll probably play anyway each night until I reach my tolerance level...swear in a slurred voice to anyone who cares, and then go sit on GMod, staring at an empty map thinking....hmmm what should I fuck with now. Whether it's something they're intending to do or an idea they dropped, but the idea is: it looks like there would be 'unique' items, the stuff we're busting our asses unlocking, and 'normal' items, which will have certain stat changes with them. Maybe the weapons would level up, or maybe you'd receive random weapons over time as is suggested in this thread. |

Fixed sourcemod and metamod - admin and other functions are back to normal. Admin please dont slap people as it might crash the server. If anyone does something that crash please dont keep quiet its better we know and can at least try and fix and inform others about a on going problem. Gold Rush rounds also hope fully working now. |

Nicely done sick and g  I do admit with naughty the medic update has caushed quite a few medics just gunning for the achivement, and i do admit it has happend to me on occasion when im burning or dying and no medics have healed me (apart from ci members and some freinds) it wouldnt be so bad if they actually did the job of a medic instead of hunting the achivement, if they wanna gun for the achievemnt they can find a 0 player server and do it with their m8s |

Yesterday was horrible as a Med is my fav seeing all these noobs playing med for the first time ( abusing and disgracing my class infront of me ).:mad: I ended up getting angry with a couple of the meds on my team for persistant dual healing and healing the person I was, during setup causing no ubers charged before timer ran out. But it was the same meds that kept doing it. I think I lost control and swore at them in the end it was an emotional day.  Todays a new day |
