u can keep ur porn if u make one pc+ linux for loading and watching p0rn and one winodws pc for playing games. BUT valve also works on a linux steam version!! they want to port all steamgames to linux  but noone knows how long they need for that.and yeah rofl it is much  500gb

Yep copy your backup , but if the pen drive is a U3 watch out as this boots when connected and could infect if viruses. other wise scan the backup on another PC or your fresh install. I don't think actually will get rid of the bad bits. Your much safer picking the option on the Windows disk to reformat everything. |

yep boot off os install disk format within, if thats not possible then create a dos boot disk format using that then use your restore.. would fdisk also whilst in dos |

I don't have a Windows CD, only some kind of product recovery CD, because my pc is a prebuilt thing, bought from a discounter called Aldi, they only gave me this OEM stuff, no real CD for Windows. Right now, I am trying to save the essentials, I mean family photos, because I'd get killed if i wouldn't. So, I put them all in my usb stick and put it in my dad's laptop, it autostarted, I wanted to pick open folder (which was the first option, which is very strange, and the option was written in english, which was even stranger) and suddenly, AntiVir saying Trojan in here. Immediately deleted it. When I autostarted it again, trying to pick the same option, accessing directly on my usb drive, it said Access denied. The third time, I went through the autostart list and found the very same option, written in german, on the bottom of the list... I'm scared shitfuck, can those fucking trojan even infect fucking pictures? Oh my god, I'm trippin, I feel like setting my PC on fire lol. Edited by Rofl teh cake on 09-12-2008 17:48 |

nope unless an image is infact an excutable and relying on you have common extensions hidden.. autostart on the usb stick however, could have just infected your dads laptop...

actually...yes...BUT. When I play TF2 on my PC I always turn off my firewall and after playing it, I always forget to turn it back on and then I surf my pr0n or whatnot. And I rarely updated antivir, only once a week or so. Might be the reason I got infected, on this laptop it's always on and updated. Arr, I'm going to stop touching the pc or laptop, I think I've screwed up enough. I'll bring it tommorow to someone professional, thanks alot for your help guys, I bugged you all enough. |

omg - virus checkers are never as important as your firewall. Most routers have a hardware firewall, I always back this up with a good firewall. Never turn off a firewall. You get all sorts of pokes and prods when you turn a firewall off - and all that could be going on while you're playing TF2 - let alone when you're surfing a goddamn porn site. If you install Spybot, you can turn on Teatimer, which informs you of any changes to your system files and asks for confirmation. I've caught many a baddy this way in the past. Get a decent firewall! |
