 Pentium 4 and intel core 2 duo equivilant?

I tried googling this but people gave different answers, so as with all my technical problems came here  the left for dead minimum specs require Pentium 4 3.0GHz or above and then recommended is Intel core 2 duo 2.4GHz so i'm guessing clock speed is not the only factor. Anyway basic quesion: Will my Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz proc run L4D? thankyou for any responses. |

If you can run tf2 mid settings or all on low and get 30+ fps you might be ok since the l4d engine is capped on fps anyhow from the server. Its based on the orange box engine with some tweaks. |

I run on a Pentium 4 3Ghz with a new ATI card and I run on almost full settings with no slow down.
