Portal: prelude
yakuz
Sorry if most of you know about this but I thought I would post it:
Don't know if you guys ever liked the original portal but if you did then this is an awesome mod. It is basically a prelude to portal, when there were still humans working at aperture science. Its bigger than the original portal with loads of levels and it also assumes some knowledge of the original portal. (it gets pretty dam hard later on, I am very stuck.)
Anyway thought it was worth posting as its one of the most professional looking Source engine mods I've played. (including the stuff that has been given steamworks.)

Here is the trailer:

Hopefully one of you can catch up to me and give me a hand Pfft

probably need source engine, dont know about needing portal

actually you do need portal:

In order to play Portal: Prelude you need to have Steam installed on your system, of course. You also need to be the owner of Portal and probably nothing else. Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike Source, Day of Defeat Source or the Source SDK Base (which can be downloaded for free in the tools tab of Steam) may be of some use, but we don't think so. In fact, I'm not really sure you need anything else than Portal, so I advise you to try and see, because there's no way I'm going to uninstall every Source game of my computer until it doesn't work anymore. Steam will notify you if something goes wrong...

Completed it earlier this week. Some levels are just ridiculous though.

yeah but if you're playing with a walkthrough you might as well just go to youtube and watch the ending.

Disagree. Sometimes you just need a little helping hand on where the hell you are meant to place the damn portals.

I'll admit, I used a walkthrough vid, for Lvl 9 (I think) - I had spent about an hour trying to leap over a dividing fence. I had couldn't work out where I'd gone wrong. The vid - clearly showed what I had to do - but to do it in practice, took me another 15 antagonising minutes!

stuck on like the second room!! damn this infernal game! i found the 1st portal quite easy... but now i'm outta touch

Even portal had bits where the solution was damnedably hard even when you could see what it was, shall have to play this when I get back on my PC instead of this infernal laptop. Still walkthroughs for this sort of game feel wrong.

(Dangerarea shouldn't it be smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast or am I missing the joke?)

Stuck on the 9th room. There's a big sheet of glass blocking the way, with a big pit of nasty water on the other side. Confused.

Must not look at walkthrough......

The dialogue from the 2 guys is really good so far. One of them's called Mike Grin

It should but it's from when Rimmer becomes Ace, is about to leave and screws it up before ejecting himself out of the ship.

Stuck on level 3. I know how to do it, its just doing it. I find it just impossible and it keeps giving me a headache :/

Level 1 was kinda simple but I didnt expect the SG to actually work :X its the first level damnit.

Second level I had problems with because you have to jump into the blue portal just right otherwise you just hit the edge. Again I knew how to do it, it was just doing it.

Extremely hard for those who just causally play portal Sick
