 Help! My new Pc freezes

For example, playing css it stops everything along 5-10 seconds and after that it runs again. Using Opera, seems like if it has crashed but a few moments after it works again.  My comp is: C2D 8400 Asus P5Q-E Corsair Dominator TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF 2x2GB Asus Radeon HD 4870 Corsair HX - Modular 620W 2x Seagate Barracuda - 500GB Raid 0 Running win vista sp1 x86. Maybe is Vista, do you think 64 bits version will run better? |

Yep, no OC done. I've Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme on cpu. 45º idle. dont know at full but not seems to be so high. 47º idle for mobo. 79º for the 4870. Its high but seems to be same on all cards. |

Thats all ok then, if it does it when just surfing the web unlikely hardware problem. Is it fresh Vista install? No missing drivers or conflicts? Any Ideas anyone? if only i had something funny or clever to put here........

Wich event logs and how to see that? I've formateed and reinstalled vista (it was frash yet). I'm installing all drivers again and another antivirus. If this doesnt work ill cry lol. |

On the new instalation of Vista (atm it works fine) ive following errors: 15 Terminal services 21 System restore (after seen this i remembered to disable it) 8 Http event 21 SPP and some "Provider of register of events of admin of control of services" translated by me lol I dont understand this, but ive seen at the log events of the old comp and has some errors too but it works fine. |

Also an idea is in bios in cpu area is stepping disable / enable - switch this to disable. What this does is set multply by x6 when idle and when cpu raises to high trottle to x9 , if you disable it will sit at x9 all the time  worth a try. |

Ive been playing about 5 hours and seems now works fine. Hope its solved. Im thinking maybe was board sound drivers problem. Ive X-Fi Xtreme Music which now is unabled and without drivers and before the format I was using it. Thanks guys for help!  PD: Ive fixed multiply too, thx! |

nice work m8 if you want to use X-Fi you need to disable onboard audio in bios: Advanced/ Onboard Device Configuration/ but if its working now perhaps leave it on, the audio on the board is very good I have same board
