Ordered a new rig
Flying
So last week I decided that I wanted a new computer (quite impulsive actually, but that's how I am) and two days later I ordered the parts.

Processor: Intel Core2Duo E8400
Motherboard: Gigabyte EX38-DS4
Ram: OCZ 2x2GB DDR2-800 5-5-5-18
Harddisk: Samsung Spinpoint F1 750GB
CPU-Cooling: Scythe Mugen SCINF
DVD-Writer: Samsung SH-S203D (SATA)

430quid for the lot

I'm keeping my case and other harddrives and ordered an additional case to put my old stuff in Smile

Expecting to get it thursday or friday (bank holiday on monday).

I'm going to split it. 300GB for my windows and the rest as data storage. It goes well with the drives I already have:

Samsung Spinpoint F1 750GB (Yes I'll have two of those then Wink)
Western Digital 3200KS 320GB
Samsung Spinpoint 250GB
Western Digital 160GB External

I haven't got much porn *looks up porn directory*
23.1GB

It's more for all the tv-series, movies and games.

sweet rig dude, Ive got the same CPU and its clocking nice at x8 440FSB 3.8 ghz, i've had it semi stable at 9x for 4 Ghz but can be a bit twitchy though it might be my motherboard Drunk but no probs at 3.7ghz and no temp increase in OC Smile

I'm planning to overclock. Have never really done it before so I might be in need of some assistance.

300gb for the OS and programs? a tad excessive maybe lol

Flying
Yer but I'll have enough. Besides if I do 100GB then I get around 20GB of free space and start uninstalling loads of stuff. I'm planning to install most of my games on it. I can easily fill 150GB with that Pfft

Only start over clocking once the machine is up and tested with OS and stable full time, otherwise you are on a 'what could it be' if your happy at defaults then comes the time for little tweaks here and there for OC.
