The game gets stuck at it every time... tried re-installing, didn't fix it. I'm really lost here :< looked all over tah interwebs for an answer

Any other games you can test your connection on? give that a whirl. Changed any hardware or cables (router / modem / windows update) http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest test connection speed https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 test ports outside your box |

I can connect in Warcraft 3, World in conflict etc. Just not the steam games

Already done. It seems it's just a problem with my computer. I haven't even changed anything since last night (last time I played tf2). Also, my roomie can connect without problems We are the all singing, all dancing crap of the world

Not sure if this will help, restart PC on restart delete/rename ClientRegistry.blob in steam folder root reload steam (so if steam restarts with windows close it down before rename/delete) load steam let it update your client version again. |

Thanks, seems to be working now. Updated windows and deleted that clientregistry a couple of time

Mine used to do it all the time. As soon as i changed internet provider, the problem has gone. I never get disconnected, never get stuck when connecting. Seems it was because of the fact i had to use the router provided and not my own which doesnt present a problem. |
